My "The Walking Dead Thoughts" blog thanks to GoDaddy coupon sigler295
I loved the season finale episode "A" of The Walking Dead. I thought the show finally did it really right.
This may be the first time I've watched one of the episodes again (well, at least two scenes).
I thought the scene with Rick and the gang was amazing. The actor who plays Rick, Andrew Lincoln, did a great job here. He really conveyed the stress and the magnitude of the scene. Really, really great acting.
As for the writing of the scene itself, I thought it was fantastic. The way it showed that Rick would do anything to keep him, Michonne, and Carl alive. He set aside all of his delusions that the world was a fair one. That he could make his life with his son a decent one. No. He realized he would have to turn into a monster in order to protect his and his son's life. It was fantastic. This scene, along with Carol's scene with the little girl is probably some of the best the show has put forth.
The end of the episode was excellent as well. The group realizing that the Terminus inhabitants were shooting at their feet was good writing. I loved the tie-in with the rabbit trap earlier. You knew what was going to happen, but it wasn't all in your face. I loved the absolute full-circle Rick took, when, at the end, in the train car, he was their leader. The leader they needed. A ruthless one. A take no prisoners leader. Not the wishy-washy leader of the prison that they had to coddle. Nope. This was a leader who knew what needed to be done.
Well done, The Walking Dead. It took you all season, but you finally got some good episode in during the last three of the season. Now, if you can do this every episode next season, you might just deserve all the accolades you get.
This is my "The Walking Dead Thoughts" blog.
Thanks for a good end to the season!
